KDG turned its focus to Shed 5, a 22,000 SF structure that was reimagined to include a state-of-the-art community kitchen facility. Designed after extensive study of regional precedents, the kitchen provides affordable space for food entrepreneurs and start-ups, supports cooking classes, and serves as a prep hub for large-scale events. The renovation also improved vendor areas and market circulation, expanding the Saturday market experience and strengthening connections between Detroit residents and local food producers.
