Olympia Development and Cinnaire Solutions Celebrate Opening of Henry Street Apartments in the District Detroit |
| Kraemer Design Group is honored to have partnered with Olympia Development of Michigan throughout the planning and redevelopment of Henry Street Apartments through our specialized Historic Preservation Planning and historic consulting services.
Our involvement began with an initial feasibility study that evaluated the long-term potential of the seven-building portfolio, including blocking diagrams, historic designation strategies, rehabilitation code analysis, and preservation planning. By combining expertise in historic architecture, preservation regulations, and development strategy, KDG helped identify opportunities, mitigate risk, and establish a clear path forward for the property’s successful redevelopment. |

As the project advanced, KDG provided ongoing historic consulting services, including the research, documentation, and coordination necessary to establish the site as a certifiable historic district encompassing all seven buildings. Working closely with ownership, preservation agencies, and project stakeholders, our team developed a roadmap that balanced preservation goals, regulatory compliance, and development objectives while positioning the project to maximize the value of its historic assets.
Henry Street Apartments exemplifies how strategic preservation planning can support informed decision-making, unlock redevelopment opportunities, and ensure that historic properties continue to serve meaningful purposes for future generations. Through this work, KDG walks hand in hand with clients to preserve not only historic buildings, but also the stories, character, and community value they represent. |

| | | AIAS UDM Student Firm Tour |
| | KDG was pleased to host students from the AIAS chapter at the University of Detroit Mercy as part of the 2026 Midwest Quad Conference and Chronology Detroit events. During their visit, students gained valuable insight into the architecture and design profession through project presentations, discussions about our work, and conversations with members of our team.
The experience extended beyond the office with an interactive walking tour of downtown Detroit, where students explored real-world examples of architecture and adaptive reuse projects. By connecting classroom concepts to the built environment, the tour provided a unique opportunity to see how design decisions shape communities and influence the way people experience the city. We were honored to share our knowledge, showcase our projects, and support the next generation of architects and designers. |

Sneak Peek: Italy Inspiration Tour |
Nate Lindsey and Jennifer Dwyer had the opportunity to travel to Italy, courtesy of Dwyer Marble & Stone, for an immersive experience exploring some of the country’s premier tile and stone manufacturers.
From touring Refin‘s impressive showroom and production facility to witnessing the transformation of raw stone blocks into finished architectural elements at Margraf, the trip offered a firsthand look at the craftsmanship behind some of the world’s most celebrated materials. Visits to Milan and Florence provided endless design inspiration, with historic architecture showcasing remarkable applications of stone and tile at every turn. And, of course, the incredible food, wine, and hospitality made the experience all the more memorable.
Stay tuned for a full recap featuring photos, insights, and key design takeaways from their Italian adventure.

We are excited to welcome Megan Finley, Project Architect, to Kraemer Design Group. A Detroit architect with more than five years of experience, Megan brings a diverse background spanning residential, commercial, hospitality, and adaptive reuse projects. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Reed College and Master of Architecture from the University of Michigan, where she explored the relationship between architecture and human experience. Her passion for people-focused design is shaped by a background in the humanities, visual and performing arts, and extensive international travel that sparked an early appreciation for architecture’s ability to preserve culture, strengthen communities, and create meaningful experiences.
A graduate and former co-chair of the Christopher Kelley Leadership Development Program through AIA Detroit, Megan is an active advocate for mentorship, interdisciplinary collaboration, and emerging professionals in the design industry. Drawn to KDG’s commitment to historic preservation and thoughtful revitalization, she is excited to contribute to projects that honor cultural narratives while shaping the future of the built environment. Outside of work, Megan enjoys renovating her 120-year-old Detroit home, exploring local bakeries in search of the perfect scone, browsing estate sales, and supporting Detroit’s creative community through local art events.
