Standart Lofts
Standart Lofts is the adaptive re-use of the former StandartSimmons Hardware Company located in Toledo’s Warehouse District. The building was constructed in 1906, and is a stunning example of sturdy, turn-of-the-century heavy timber and masonry construction. In addition to creating some truly incredible interior spaces, the structure is a marvel of the kind of old-growth timber construction no longer seen in architecture. The structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and qualified for Historic Preservation Tax Credits. Restoration work included renovation of the entire interior into 75 apartments, and a facade renovation including full masonry restoration and new single-hung aluminum windows throughout. In addition to the soaring 14’ ceilings and open loft design, residents also get to enjoy an expansive rooftop deck with panoramic views of the ballpark, riverfront, and Toledo skyline. Construction was completed in late 2011.
