1145 Griswold

1145 Griswold is a significant focal point in Capitol Park, positioned on the corner of State Street and Griswold Street. Originally constructed in 1912, the building functioned as a commercial office space. The renovation scope included 63 luxury residential apartments on the Third through Eleventh floors, with resident access to an outdoor roof deck offering amazing views of Downtown. All units are equipped with quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, ceramic tile flooring and in-unit washers and dryers. An elevated, enclosed pedestrian bridge gives residents a convenient connection to the parking garage across the alley. New windows, a new GFRP decorative cornice and new steel entrance canopies enhanced the remaining original terra cotta detailing and brought the historic façade back to life. The rehabilitation of the building utilized both State and Federal Historic Tax Credits, with KDG also serving as the Historic Consultant.
